Watch out for scams

Recently a spate of false and misleading marketing letters have been received by a number of our clients.

“Registrations Pty Ltd” also called “Reg.com.au”, send unsolicited Company Statement renewal or Business Name renewal letters to Australian businesses designed to look like official notices. These letters trick victims into paying their renewal fees at a significantly higher amount amount.

The reason these deceptive emails have been successful is they have hidden disclaimers which are easily missed along with deceptive wording.

What to do

If your receive a notice like this, please do not pay. Always renew your business name or annual ASIC statement through official ASIC channels or by contacting us if we act as your ASIC registered agent.
